Maiden Voyage Downtown

I think it's important to walk the talk, and I'm a pretty big talker when it comes to downtowns. So it stands to reason that I should live in one.

Yes, I will be making my maiden voyage to Downtown Adrian. The building is located in an undeveloped area downtown on Maiden Lane. The whole block is pretty much boarded up except for the building that Buddy, my dog and I, will be living in.

Why would I want to live in Downtown Adrian, you may ask? Well, there are lots of reasons. I want to be close to my work, in fact within walking distance. I want to be part of a community - I want to belong to something larger than myself. I want to know my neighbors and be friends with the merchants. I want to be in an atmosphere with lots of food options, art and cultural opportunities. I want to walk down the street every morning and say hello to Chris, Don, Jim, Vince, Shane, Vicky, Stephanie, Carol, Joyce, Diane - and these are all real people I see daily! I want to be a part of a community that's made up of people who really care about their town. Happy, friendly people investing their time, energy and money into making it a better place. They're taking a risk, they're pioneers, they've been on the maiden voyage for a long while. They're just letting me come on board for the ride. Well, this maiden says, "Thank you!"
