In Search of Prince Charming

IMG_4873.JPG

Searching for Prince Charming has been my job, at least lately within my new role as Marketing and Sales Consultant for Tecumseh Center for the Arts (TCA). I have been on board for only a short while but oh what a ride it’s been. I am enthused with the creative aspects of the work and my energy level has been off the charts. I am truly in the flow. Hours pass by like minutes and it's hard to pull myself away from my work.

I think one of the coolest things about the TCA is their ability to envision a production, set or event...and then magically manifest it into reality. The amount of creative talent and tremendous support from volunteers and City staff is truly impressive. Let’s just say, working with the TCA and the Tecumseh Parks and Recreation division is exciting, fun and dare I say…more like play, than work!

For instance, Princess Day; it’s been a blast working with the TCA team to coordinate and market this event. Come on, what girl doesn't want to be a princess? We all do, no matter what age we are - all girls/women want to be princesses. We were all fed that story about Prince Charming too.

So, here's the TCA fairytale - Marketing Strategy for Princess Day Event: Once upon a time in the magical kingdom of TCA, a royal celebration was planned. Fair maidens from all across the Land of Lenawee and beyond were invited to attend, but only the first 100 maidens were able to get a ticket. All festivities were in place, but one. Alas, no Prince Charming could be found. So, by Her Majesty's most royal decree, TCA sent out an official herald to all the media and social networking outlets announcing, "TCA is in search of Prince Charming!" A contest was set up, brave knights responded with photos and bios, and one was selected to win the title of Prince Charming. Another official herald was sent, but this one announced, "TCA finds Prince Charming!" Ticket sales skyrocketed - in fact the event sold out, over a hundred princesses attended and experienced a dream come true and everyone lived happily ever after...THE END.
